Vintage Japanese hair comb hair pin set kanzashi geisha hair accessories (AGG)

A striking Japanese hair comb and hair pin geisha set in floral design with mother of pearl inlay. CONDITION: good vintage condition with expected wear.

SIZE: comb 3 x 4 ins (7.5 x 10 cm); hairpin 7 x 1½ ins (18 x 4 cm). MATERIALS: resin, mother of pearl, lacquer. A beautiful Japanese hair comb and geisha pin set in floral design with elaborate mother of pearl inlay. The comb or kushi is a traditional half moon shape with floral mother of pearl inlay and lacquer in shades of red, black and amber.

The matching hair pin has a disk shaped head and a so-called ear pick finial. The design matches that on the comb. Both ornaments have a simpler design on the back. The hair pin is a matching piece with the comb.
