A lovely group, this lot of rare antique Satsuma buttons are an unusual subject matter as it's not often that a collective of portraits are found. Ranging from Geisha to scholars to Samurai, each button has been carefully crafted with bold colours and richly gilded borders set upon crazed ceramic. The crazing appears age related as most Satsuma crazes in this manner and is merely a compliment to the aged buttons. A group of wearable portraits portraying the brave, the beautuful and the wise. In very good condition with some minor surface marks inline with age and use. Each button diameter: 2.5cms.
